When the war in Ukraine forced millions of people from their homes, Peja Rotarians looked for a way to help that would reach refugees wherever they ended up.
Digital Clinic for Ukraine gives Ukrainian refugees free access to health care online: consultations with well-known Ukrainian specialist doctors, in their own language, from anywhere in the world. Around 40 Ukrainian doctors take part.
The platform was built through a partnership between Klinika Digjitale, a Kosovo digital health company co-founded by Rotary Club Peja members, and Ternopil National Medical University in Ukraine. Club member Dr. Dardan N. Albani presented the project to the club in April 2022, and Rotary Club Peja has supported it ever since. The project is listed on Rotary International’s Rotary Showcase.
In January 2023 the club welcomed Oksana Tjupa, charter president of the Rotary Club of Kyiv International, to talk about her club’s Community Shelter Project for people displaced inside Ukraine, and about further ways to work together.
